Cosmic Weather Forecast

Romance is in the air! A rosy emotional glow permeates the atmosphere this Full Moon and is likely to touch each and every one of us. The moon is in its sign of exaltation, Taurus, a position that is associated with the fusion of love and sexual attraction, the rare alignment of heart and head. Understanding others is easier this week, and opening the heart completely to a compatible love partner can lead to a transcendent experience.

This Full Moon our spiritual community, both incarnate and discarnate, bolsters our self-assurance in a time of troubles, when it appears that we can no longer depend upon existing social structures to provide for our financial well-being, our personal security, our health and the health of our communities.

This Aquarius Full Moon we see that it is only through the Aquarian virtues of respect for others and selfless service for the good of the Whole that we will be able to restore the Balance that is required to serve as a Foundation for the creation of a new set of social, political, economic and spiritual relations for suffering Humanity.

We all need a break from the Long Emergency. We are in a marathon run, not a sprint. Nothing less than a superhuman commitment to peace, diplomacy, selfless service, magic and wild joy will see us through to the other side of this epochal transformation of human civilization.

Auspicious planetary forces will harmonize conflicting energies this Wesak Full Moon Festival. That's good because the long-term Cosmic Weather Forecast is conflicted. We must soon manage the looming end of the Industrial Revolution, raging religious and resource wars, peak oil, environmental catastrophes and the decline of the American Empire.

Feeling stressed? You're not alone. The Sun, Uranus, Mars, Mercury retrograde and Jupiter are all in Aries, opposed by the Moon and Saturn retrograde in Libra. All these planets are part of a T-Square formation which features Pluto retrograde in Capricorn as the linchpin. On the plus side, the Full Moon trines Neptune in Pisces and Chiron, providing a highly charged spiritual current of healing and inner transformation, which is quite likely to manifest as a stream of meaningful synchronistic events that act as guideposts for us during this time of stress, when we most lack clarity. These synchronicities will open up new doorways for us, providing us with golden opportunities for accelerated spiritual advancement.

The coming extreme environmental events, and the potential war of all against all that could be unleashed by water shortages, food shortages, greed and lust for power during the end of the age of abundant, cheap oil can only be averted or mitigated by the emergence of a group consciousness that honors the Earth and simultaneously maintains the welfare of all individuals. Those of us who can successfully integrate these communitarian impulses into our psyches and our lives, and find common cause with those who share our goals, but who may have different belief systems and values, will be richly rewarded by the Universe, and will be given the tools enabling us to work together to ameliorate the coming global troubles in our immediate vicinity and around the world.

As we look back on this year of intense personal change, which began with a move from New York to California just before last spring, we recall the heart-felt agony triggered by the Deepwater Horizon disaster, apocalyptic fires in Russia, the floods in Pakistan, the cholera crisis in Haiti, the periodic panics in global financial markets, the riots in Athens, Paris, Rome and London, the TSA groping scandals, and the sky-high unemployment rate in America.

This Full Moon in Pisces humanity ascends the cross of transformation. The challenge for us all, individually and collectively, is to leave behind our everyday concerns, our mental maps of the world, and our typical emotional reactions to stress and conflict, and to allow Spirit to open our hearts and connect us with Higher Mind. The path is one of suffering and the destination is a place where suffering is no more.
