Mixed Madonna is a digital painting that depicts the Great Mother -- a collage of jukebox jewels, holy cards, plam, and bits of colored paper.

This artwork is a high-resolution reproduction of Mixed Madonna, an original work of ephemeral, magical digital art by Jane Sherry, co-owner of Satya Center.

Jane’s work is included in many private and public collections including the Getty Museum, The Museum of Modern Art Library, The New York Public Library, Yale University, Dartmouth University, The University of California San Diego and more.

"Here, the Madonna is seen in her guise as Great Mother, the healer of all that ails humankind," Jane explains. "She clutches her sacred caduceus, wrapped around the holy cross. At the bottom of the page are the names of some of her many manifestations--Astarte, Ishtar and Isis."

"The crown of the Great Mother depicted in this digitally painted collage was constructed partly from jukebox 'jewels' given to me by an old friend whose family was in the business of making jukeboxes at one time," Jane recalls. "I scanned the jewels into the computer along with holy cards from my husband's childhood Missal, a piece of palm like that distributed at a Palm Sunday Mass, and bits of colored paper."

I created this piece as a digital 'collage' using PhotoShop and painted the piece using a Wacom stylus and Painter. I had to enlarge the image size to several hundred percent of normal and work virtually pixel by pixel to create this artwork. Mixed Madonna won an award from the software company which creates the Painter software used by digital artists," says Jane.

Mixed Madonna is being offered in a signed, limited edition of 250 prints on 11" x 8.5" semi gloss photo paper.
