Uruguyan amethyst has been very difficult to find on world markets for the last couple of years. Many of the mines have played out and the scarcity of this deep grape jam colored amethyst has only added to its desirability among Lightworkers and mineral collectors alike.
Amethyst is the gemstone variety of quartz, produced by the presence of manganese and hematite in clear quartz crystal. Increments of iron (hematite) within the crystal as it formed vary the color of the amethyst, which can range from pale lilac to deep purple. Amethyst has been popular with royalty, sages, mystics and magicians for centuries. The deep purple grape jam colored amethyst is considered the most energetically powerful and desirable variety of amethyst, and is seldom available at affordable prices.
