This February, Saturn and Neptune conjoin at the 0º Aries Point, an astrological aspect that has not been seen for thousands of years, approximately 7000 BC according to the best estimates of current astrologers.

The last Saturn and Neptune conjunction in Aries was in 1703, and the last time that Saturn and Neptune moved synchronously from Ares to Pisces and back to Aries was in the year 878 A.D.

Historical precedents are hard to come by.

So there's every reason to believe that, astrologically, we are heading into a completely new era.

In addition, this spring there will be an unprecedented seven planets in Aries and the alchemical element of fire will permeate the collective consciousness of humanity.

We will look more closely at the major astrological events you will encounter in the New Year in February's 2026 Cosmic Weather Forecast, so stay tuned!

Renaissance astronomer and astrologer Johannes Kepler investigated the signs in the stars visible during the first decade A.D., the time of the the birth of Christ, and he paid very close attention to the true nature of the Magi, the Three Kings of the East, and the Star that guided them to the Divine Child.

"The Magi were of Chaldea, where astrology was born, of which this is a dictum: Great conjunctions of planets in Cardinal points, especially in equinoctial points of Aries and Libra, signal a universal change of affairs; and a cometary star appearing at the same time tells of the rise of a King," Kepler explained. You can read more in the official collection of Kepler's writings, Astronomi Opera Omnia

Astrologers know that historically this infrequent Saturn/Neptune in Aries conjunction combined with the summer Aries stellium could signify hot civil wars, military conflicts, and cold culture battles across the globe.

It could also signify a spiritual awakening, since the alchemical element of fire symbolizes the Holy Spirit, the anima mundi, the creative consciousness of Mother Gaia.

Fortunately, the outer planets will be in a very rare harmonious set of aspects in 2026, which has led some leading astrologers to predict the dawning of a Global Renaissance.

The Renaissance was a time of scientific breakthroughs, artistic masterpieces, humanistic philosophy, alchemical experimentation and Hermetic spirituality.

It was also a time when European countries engaged in bloody religious wars and wars of conquest in the New World.

The Inquisition persecuted wise women, scientists and practitioners of the Western Mystery School traditions.

In 2026, we can expect to see a series of shocking events that resonate with the Renaissance themes we've just enumerated.

A fiery Spirit approaches from the Cosmic Source.

A New Age is beginning for humanity. Will we choose Termination, Techno-Fascism, Transmutation or Transcendence?

Numerologically, 2026 is a "One" year, since 2+0+2+6=10 and 1+0=1.

For spiritual aspirants on all paths, this New Year represents the strong potential for the birth of a new way of being in the world, for a movement away from the life scripts, repetitive karmic dramas and long held but outdated mental maps of reality that have structured and constrained our relationship choices, our values and our priorities in the past.

The number one represents a major step forward in our individuation process -- the dawning of self-conscious awareness, the initiation of the acolyte into the Mysteries of Life and Death, and in the wake of this quickening of mind and spirit, a renewed ability to exercise our newly awakened Will forces in harmony with our Higher Purpose and in Service to the Divine Plan.

In 2026, a one year, we can expect to be energized by Cosmic forces and to have many golden opportunities to let our love light shine brighter and further than ever before!

We can make best use of this powerful energy by engaging in practices designed to connect us to Cosmic forces of love and light, and to our own Higher Self, Higher Mind and Higher Purpose.

In the Vedic astrological tradition of Jyotish and in the Western Mystery School traditions, the number one has for many centuries been associated with the point within the circle, the symbol of the Sun.

In 2026, let us all resolve to consciously connect with the vitalizing energies of the Sun.

This year, no matter what spiritual practices we may perform, let us make it our spiritual mission to become like the Sun -- radiating love and light to one and all, just as the Sun engulfs the entire web of life in warmth and life-giving light.

By taking up this practice of venerating the life-giving energies radiated by the Sun, we connect with Ascended Master Teachers of the Mystery Schools of the East and the West.

That connection empowers, heals, and expands consciousness, as a long lineage of Mystery School practitioners have repeatedly taught over the centuries.

In ancient Egypt, Ra, the Sun God, was the creator of the Universe, the father of all the other Deities.

In the Roman Mysteries, the central role of Sol Invictus, the Unconquerable Sun, is undeniable.

During the Renaissance, in the 16th century, Copernicus initiated an astronomical revolution, and the old Greco-Roman-Medieval model of the geocentric Universe was superseded by a far more expansive view of the Cosmos.

Copernicus placed the Sun at the center of the Universe, and calculated that the distance from the Sun to the Earth was far less than the distance from the planets to the stars beyond our Solar System.

On Sept. 10, 2025, NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory captured this image of the Sun.

The thread of Solar-centric spirituality that had continued unbroken from its origins in the Egyptian Mysteries through Greek Mysteries, and Roman religious practices resurfaced in 16th Century Hermetic/alchemical spiritual teachings that celebrated the switch from geocentric to heliocentric views of the Universe.

The famous Italian philosopher, cosmologist, and mystic Giordano Bruno extended Copernicus' model of the Universe, noting that the Sun also spins on its axis like the Earth.

Unlike the hierarchical Great Chain of Being model of the Universe advanced by Aristotle and Ptolemy and the Medieval Christian Church, there was no hierarchy in Bruno's Universe.

For Bruno, the Universe was an infinite clear sphere with circumference nowhere and center everywhere.

Bruno's Universe consists of an infinite number of suns and planets extending every which way in time and space.

That infinity of Space was filled with countless rotating suns and stars, all connected by an ocean of "pure air" or ether, a field of energy that offered no resistance to the heavenly bodies.

Bruno was one of the first persons to proclaim that the stars in the sky were in fact heavenly bodies like our Sun, emitting light and heat and surrounded by planetary bodies similar to our Earth in some ways. The Catholic Church fathers had long considered this view of the Universe to be heresy.

Bruno was far from alone in his heliocentric scientific observations and mystical visions of a limitless Universe filled with Spirit. Greek philosophers such as Heraclitus, Anaxamander, and Anaxagoras had taught that the Universe is an open-ended dynamic system.

These ideas were revived during the time of Galileo's discoveries and Bruno's heretical teachings.

“Neoplatonic and Pythagorean mathematical mysticism and Sun exaltation . . . ran through all the major Copernican astronomers,”  the famed astrologer Richard Tarnas notes, in his book The Passion of the Western Mind.

Bruno believed that the Earth is a living being with a soul. One of the heresies that brought Bruno to the attention of the Inquisition was the belief that “the Holy Spirit is nothing other than the soul of the world.”  The belief that heavenly bodies have souls was long considered by the Catholic Church to be a heresy punishable by death.

If the Earth has a soul, what about the Sun? Is the Sun a living being? Bruno's contemporary Galileo thought so. "In two private letters, in 1615, [Galileo] guardedly admitted that he believed that the Sun can be described as the soul of the world and that it transmits a spirit throughout the universe, a spirit that gives life and movement to all things."

Bruno's radical cosmology, which was more comprehensively modern than that of Copernicus, challenged the authority and teachings of both Church and State, so the Inquisition burned Bruno alive in Rome's Campo de' Fiori in the year 1600.

In the wake of the Copernican revolution, which was a scientific revolution above all, Bruno expected that a new religion based upon the centrality of the Sun would emerge on the world stage.

Today, we can detect the same current of mystical philosophy that animated the Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and NeoPlatonic philosophers of the European Renaissance in the teachings of the 20th Century Bulgarian Spiritual Master Omraam Mikhaël Aïvanhov.

Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov * See the book A Philosophy of Universality (P0206AN), chapter VII, VIII et X

Omraam taught a fusion of Kabbalistic teachings, yogic wisdom and Esoteric Christianity that has resonated with disciples around the world for nearly a century.

Omraam helped his students develop the ability to read what he called The Living Book of Nature, and in this way to connect to the power of the Sun.

As you can see in the picture above, Omraam carried a walking stick with a large clear cut crystal mounted on top, which he used as a crystal wand.

Omraam believed that by meditating upon the seven colors of the spectrum, visible through the crystal prism, students can infuse the positive qualities of the seven colors and chakras into their own auric field.

Omraam developed a hybrid form of Eastern and Western teachings in what he called Surya Yoga, which venerates the Sun as the center of the Universe, and the macroscopic equivalent of the Higher Self of a human being.

Surya is the Sanskrit word for the Hindu Solar Deity.

"Take the sun as your model, as it sheds light, warmth and life," Omraam urged his students. "You will say there are other models: a scientist perhaps, an artist, a philosopher, a hero, a saint or a spiritual Master, and they seem so much more accessible than the sun!

"Of course, and you will no doubt be influenced by their qualities and virtues. But in reality you will always be missing something. Even if you take the greatest Masters of humanity as your models, you will still not have the image of true perfection."

"The image of true perfection is the sun, and if you take it as a model and wish, like the sun, to bring light, warmth and life to all creatures, you will undergo a deep transformation," Omraam promised. "Your light, your warmth and your life will never equal the sun’s, of course, but simply wanting to acquire them will transport you to the celestial regions, where you will work wonders. The desire to give light, warmth and life like the sun will make you yourself more light-filled, warmer and more alive."

Here is a link to a video and text of Omraam's Sunrise Meditation, in his own words, for your enjoyment.

If you wish to experience the power of the spiritual Sun for yourself, another way is to perform our Sunrise Meditation.

This is a simple exercise that involves breathing exercises and creative visualizations that will help you to supercharge your body, mind and bio-field with life giving prana.

Our Sunrise Meditation is based upon a blend of practices taught by Shri Yukteswar and Drunvalo Melchizedek, with my own additions.

This meditation will infuse you with the Universal Life Force energy emanating from the rising sun.

If you would like you can also perform this meditation at other times of the day, but Sunrise is the most auspicious time.

For best results during the Sunrise Meditation, never look directly at the sun for prolonged periods.

Remove sunglasses and perform the Sunrise Meditation with eyes closed, facing the sun.

And of course, if you wish to perform the Sun Salutation at sunrise while meditating upon the power of the Spiritual Sun, and connecting with the loving wisdom of the Higher Self, that is a venerable Yoga practice that has benefited countless spiritual aspirants and yoga practitioners around the world over for centuries.

To enhance the sunrise yogic experience, you can chant the Surya Gayatri Mantra, which is a Sanskrit prayer invoking Surya, the Sun God, who is considered an aspect of Shiva or Vishnu, and the life-giving source of Universal Life Force energy that sustains all living beings on Earth. Ideally, the mantra should be repeated 108 times for enhanced benefits.

This mantra is used for healing and to attract fame and fortune. Click here to hear this chant in Sanskrit.

"Om Adityaya Vidmahe Marthandaya Dhimahi Tanno Suryah Prachodayaath"

"We comprehend the glory of the Sun God son of Aditi, the mother of the gods.
We meditate on the Sun who is the offspring of the Cosmic Egg, Martanda.
May the Sun God inspire us."

This mantra often is chanted during the performance of the Sun Salutation, and is intended to infuse the practitioner with the prana streaming from the Sun, restoring vital energies in body, mind and bio-field.

This mantra brings clarity of mind, supports us on the path to enlightenment and connects us with inner intuitive guidance.

This winter the weather in the United States is so variable, that you may be able to perform these practices outside from time to time, even in the snow.

The best time of year for these practices is certainly in the spring and summer, but they are always beneficial.

Astrologers are in agreement that 2026 will be a year of world historical transformations, featuring extremely rare outer planet aspects that indicate the potential for a 21st Century global Renaissance and also for global catastrophes, depending upon the choices humanity makes.

Performing these solar meditations will align us with these epochal outer planet energies, since all the outer planets will be in fire and air signs in 2026, in stark contrast to the period from 2007-2025, when the outer planets resided primarily in earth and water signs.

In addition, these solar practices will empower us to do our part in energizing humanity's collective consciousness, aligning that collective consciousness with humanity's Higher Purpose, and promoting the healing of the wounded heart of suffering humanity, as we work together with other like minded spiritual aspirants to manifest a Global Renaissance and a just transition to a post-hydrocarbon global civilization.

Happy New Year!

Cancer Full Super Moon, Capricorn Solar Festival

On Saturday, January 3, 2026 we celebrate the Cancer Full Super Moon at 5:03 AM Eastern time, and we honor the Capricorn Solar Festival.

January 3, 2026 Cancer Full Super Moon Astrological Chart

Venus, Sun and Mars conjunct in Capricorn are in tight opposition to the Moon in Cancer, and broadly opposed to Jupiter in Cancer as well.

Emotions run high, but it may be difficult to express those emotions to others.

Personal vitality is strong, and our desire to pursue our personal agendas with great vigor may be tempered by a succession of strong but fleeting emotions that could have their source in family dramas, relationship snafus or just ambient astral glamours sourced from the collective consciousness.

This Full Moon ignites desires to experience sensuous enjoyment in all its forms. This is a time when our appreciation of art, music, dance, and sexual relations is greatly enhanced.

We want above all to share those experiences with those close to us.

Jupiter in Cancer squares Chiron in Aries, so we may find that we can open ourselves to the experience of ancient emotional wounds connected to the pursuit of our own spiritual path, perhaps in opposition to the spiritual practices and beliefs of our birth families or the community around us.

This Jupiter/Chiron square symbolizes a time when we are finally empowered to release the stuck energies from these early conflicts around spirituality.

There is a sense of joy and relief and we realize that now we can make progress toward the achievement of our highest spiritual goals as we experience an increased sense of personal freedom.

With Neptune sextile both Uranus and Pluto, the transpersonal realms of collective consciousness are easily accessible to all of us.

This is a most auspicious time for spiritual practices designed to open the heart to the experience of compassion for all sentient beings.

We will find that if we make the attempt, we can take this golden opportunity to re-center our consciousness in the Higher Self, awakening us to the loving wisdom of Higher Mind, and revealing our Higher Purpose for the New Year of 2026.

Astrological Chart for January 2026 Last Quarter Moon
On January 10th, a very intense chart for the last quarter moon features a short lived Grand Cardinal Cross.

Jupiter in Cancer opposes Sun, Venus and Mars in Capricorn. The Moon in Libra squares Sun, Venus and Mars in Capricorn. Chiron in Aries squares Jupiter in Cancer and also squares Sun, Venus and Mars in Capricorn.

This stellar configuration could create extremely challenging situations in our lives and even a crisis of consciousness, bringing up doubts about our own perceptions of reality.

We may question our ability to make progress toward our spiritual and material goals, given our present circumstances and an array of obstacles that could suddenly appear before us on our path of Spirit.

This astrological moment of tough love challenges us to exercise our will and to think outside the box as we rise above our fears and feelings of inadequacy to formulate new solutions for thorny problems.

Our best efforts will pay off as we discover a portal leading us out of what appears to be a dead end and into a grand and beautiful new spacious reality.

The good news is that the energy of this Grand Cardinal Cross is short lived, and by the New Moon on January 18th, Uranus trines Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars in late Capricorn, and Uranus also trines Venus and Pluto in early Aquarius.

Wow! This indicates a time when we can break free from all the outer world constraints and inner fears that have been boxing us in, especially those issues that have arisen at the time of the January 10th Grand Cardinal Cross.

Overall, January is a time when the Capricorn stellium of planets offers us tremendous support as we initiate new projects and begin to put in the hard work that is needed to manifest our highest spiritual and material goals in 2026.

Meditation Moment: Arise, oh day! by Rumi

Arise oh day! The atoms are dancing!

For him the spheres and wind are dancing

Souls ecstatic with joy are dancing

I’ll whisper in your ear where they are dancing

Each atom in the wind or desert

Is good-natured, like this, we are enchanted

Each atom, whether happy or sad

Is bewildered by the sun, happy without reason
