The Full Moon of Loving Kindness

Today is the Festival of Humanity, celebrated during the Full Moon in Sagittarius. The Moon is full at 7:07 pm EDT, 4:07 pm PDT, and will be located at 6˚33’ Sagittarius. The Sun will be at 6˚33’ Gemini.
The Sabian symbol for this degree of Sagittarius is this: “Cupid knocks at the door of a human heart.”
This refers to the need for us to allow ourselves to experience the heart-opening, life-altering adventure of human love for another person. The experience of losing oneself in a love relationship with another individual is for many human beings the closest they will ever come to an experience of Unity with another being, indeed of Unity with the Universe itself. When we love deeply and completely, we lose our egoistic sense of self, and we experience compassion for our loved one. We are willing to make sacrifices for the benefit of the one we love.
Romantic love can be a doorway to the Divine, but all too often lovers are unable to maintain that open doorway. Their love becomes a closed circuit, blocking out the rest of the world, and in that case their love will wither and die.
“If love is understood as the meeting of two souls – not just a sexual, biological meeting of male and female hormones – then love can give you great wings, it can give you great insights into life,” says Zen Master Osho. “And lovers can become for the first time true friends. Otherwise they have always been enemies in disguise.”
Of course it’s true! Because the lovers have sought to possess one another, to reshape one another to conform to their ideal images of what love ought to be, they have been secret enemies, not friends. Because they have sought to satisfy their desires by consuming one another, sexually, emotionally, and energetically, they have been enemies. It is extremely sad, but it is true.
How then shall lovers become friends, even partners?
By joining their love with Divine Love and consciously choosing to express that Divine Love in their lives, through acts of mutual compassion and creativity. This conscious act of co-creation with the Divine is what separates the Partnership love union from a Narcissistic love relationship. Needless to say, most romantic love relationships exist to fulfill the egoistic needs of the lovers. This is the way of Narcissistic love relations.
But how can we attain an unconditional love, a lasting love, a love that uplifts us and our partner to new spiritual heights?
The great challenge for those who want a love that lasts, a love that uplifts and enlightens them, that frees them from the bonds of the illusory self and leads to conscious connection with the Higher Self, is to surrender the ego and to end karma.
Let me briefly summarize some of the basic steps toward achieving that end. To achieve a lasting union with another the lovers must work toward greater and greater Self-love. Through spiritual practices, each must work to establish a link to the Higher Self. This will give each of them access to inner spiritual guidance that will facilitate their spiritual growth and speed them on the path to their spiritual goals.
The Higher Self is the opposite sexual polarity from the physical body, so understand that your love partner is your perfect mirror, attracted to you through the law of resonance, and that this person reflects to you many of the qualities of your Higher Self. You will benefit from becoming conscious of these qualities in your lover, and acknowledging the Divinity within them which is the Source of these admirable qualities. Make efforts to learn from your lover, and to incorporate their admirable qualities into your own psyche.
Using shared conscious intent to spiritualize your love relationship, create a bond with beings of love and light in higher worlds. Visualize that you and your lover are connected with the Divine Lovers, the Source of Creation.
Intent is the key to successful relationships, no matter where you are on the path of love. Focus your intent on the desired outcome, a relationship in which both partners share the goal of experiencing a lasting, spiritual love. And if you are currently in a relationship, focus your intent on bringing the Divine into the center of your loving exchange. Make it your unwavering intent that your love be a gift to the Divine. Offer up the love and light you share to those who dwell in spiritual worlds, and be assured that this offering will trigger an influx of love and light into your heart, and into your relationship.
Whether or not your lover shares your spiritual path, focus your intent and your prayers on a single goal – that your loving exchange should become a path to spiritual growth and development for both parties, and that all difficulties, quarrels, obstacles and misunderstandings between you become stepping stones on the path toward a Divine love, a love that transcends the narrow concerns of ego and personality. Remember that no one has ever succeeded in improving their love relationship one bit by demanding that their lover improve themselves.
On the other hand, if you work to improve yourself, to end your own bad habits, to transform anger, fear, greed, jealousy, envy, impatience and doubt into compassion, generosity, patience, forgiveness, faith and love, then your love relationship will almost certainly improve.
To improve your self, and to progress on the path of self-love through your loving relationship, make your relationship a spiritual practice. When you do, you will quickly discover that you and your lover will no longer focus primarily on working for your own benefit, but will be guided to open your hearts and work to help those in need. In this way your love relationship will lead you both to become Lightworkers, engaged in selfless service for he benefit of Humanity.
This is an extremely appropriate message for today’s Full Moon Festival of Humanity, also known as the Festival of Goodwill, because today is the day that the Ascended Master Guides and Teachers of all the Mystery Schools of the East and West join together to light the flame of inner wisdom in the minds of humanity - known as Buddha Mind to the Initiates of the East. Today is the day the Ascended Masters light the flame of unconditional love in the heart of humanity.
This is the third of the three great spring festivals of the Universal Interfaith Spirituality of the New Age. The first festival of Easter celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ. The second festival celebrates the birth of the Buddha, his enlightenment and death, and is called Wesak. Wesak was celebrated during last month’s full moon. The Festival of Humanity is the third.
During today’s Festival of Humanity, the love of Christ and the wisdom of the Buddha are showered down upon the Earth. At this time, spiritual disciples of all paths and lineages and religions around the world receive inspiration and instructions concerning their roles and duties for the upcoming year.
The Hierarchy of Spiritual Guides and Teachers overseeing humanity’s spiritual evolution join with the Cosmic Christ and provide a roadmap of the coming seasonal cycle to all disciples, planting the seeds for all the spiritual activities that disciple are being urged to undertake during the next year.
Most importantly, the Hierarchy and the Cosmic Christ engulf the entire planet with a powerful high-frequency energetic charge as The Will to Good, which is distributed through powerspots around the world to all willing recipients. This energy acts as a powerful stimulant, strengthening the will forces in struggling humanity, and acts as a beneficent power surge, impelling disciples on all paths to internalize the energy of Goodwill, to act with Goodwill toward all, and to strive to establish right human relations in all their activities.
The energy released on the Full Moon Festival of Humanity circulates throughout the etheric body of planet Earth for three full nights and days.
All those who wish to participate in this Festival of Humanity would do well to set aside some time during the evening of the Full Moon and for the next two nights for deep meditation.
To enhance your receptivity to these beneficent energies try these activities on the three nights of the Festival beginning with the Full Moon tonight:
If you are unable to meditate at the exact time of the full moon, choose a time within 12 hours before or after the full moon to be part of this global meditation.
Simply sit alone, or join with other like-minded individuals and visualize the planet Earth surrounded by a grid of light.
The Christ Consciousness Grid, actually a set of seven grids in rainbow colors that surrounds the Earth, is in the form of a pentagonal dodecahedron with icosahedral caps. The Grid is said to play a crucial part in the quickening of humanity’s evolving spiritual consciousness at this time.
”Sacred geometry is the expression of geometry related to the evolution of consciousness, mind, body, and spirit in geometric terms,” explains Ronald Holt, Director of Flower of Life Research. “True sacred geometry is not just static angular forms. It is organic and living -- it is in constant evolution (transcendence) or devolution (materialization), ascending or descending from one form to another.”
“So the grid of the planet is an actual geometric and energetic expression of the principles of creation that can serve as a bridge between our planet's physical and energetic manifestations. To get an idea of how vast the grid actually is, let's look first at our planet. By tuning in to this matrix of light and consciousness on June 11, and by consciously focusing our intent to unite our energies with all individuals of good will around the world during a day of global meditation, humanity opens a door into the spiritual world, through which the many Ascended Masters of the Wisdom Schools both East and West can pour blessings and specific guidance appropriate to the time and place and situation of each and every person taking part in World Invocation Day.
At the Goodwill Festival the Spiritual Hierarchy, guided by the Christ, showers the Will-to-Good upon Planet Earth. The New Group of World Servers receives and distributes these energies into the world.
So, join in the worldwide meditation, asking that all individuals be given the grace and guidance they need during this coming year to fulfill their loftiest spiritual goals.Pray that all those working for peace, justice and restoration of this Garden Planet be given the will forces, the courage, the energy, the endurance and the opportunity to be of maximum service in the world.
Connect through the Christ Consciousness Grid with your fellow Lightworkers, feel their presence energy, and seek to unite with them during this festival.
Open yourself to receive the blessings being poured down by Humanity’s Wisdom Teachers, both incarnate and disincarnate, and prepare to receive messages of loving wisdom designed to help accelerate your spiritual and material progress throughout the coming seasons of summer, fall and winter.
Place a flower on your altar or near your place of meditation. Place a bowl of water on your altar or near your seat. If you have some water you gathered during the Wesak Full Moon Festival, use that water at this time as an offering to Grandmother Earth.
If possible, light a candle to represent the kindling of the spirit, the awakening of the Higher Mind and the flame of compassion lit within the open heart. You may also burn some incense or sage, to create a spiral pathway from earth to sky, sending an offering to those Beings of Light who join their energies to ours during this Full Moon Festival.
Say the Great Invocation aloud:
“From the point of light within the mind of God let light stream forth into our minds. Let light descend on Earth.
From the point of love within the heart of God let love stream forth into our hearts. May love increase on Earth.
From the Center where the will of God is known, let purpose guide our wills, the purpose which the Masters know and serve.
From the Center which we call humanity let the plan of love and light work out, and may it seal the door where evil dwells.
Let light and love and power restore the plan on Earth. Let light and love and power restore the plan on Earth. Let light and love and power restore the planet Earth.”
Then sit in meditation, for as long as is suitable for you.
Finally, when you are finished, thank your fellow lightworkers, the Spiritual Guides and Teachers of the Wisdom Schools of the East and West, and Grandmother Earth. Drink the water in your bowl, save for a small amount, which you may sprinkle on living plants or grasses, preferably outside your dwelling, as a final offering to the Earth, and to the devas and nature spirits who work so diligently to optimize, structure and regulate the forces vivifying the natural world.
