Holi is a venerable and potent festival of regeneration, resurrection, renewal and new life, celebrating the Victory of Lord Vishnu, Sustainer of the Universe, over the King of Demons, and the Victory of Eternal Light over Darkness.

This Taurus Full Moon, occurring during the time of Sun in Scorpio, is governed by the planet Pluto, the Lord of the Underworld. Pluto is in some ways like the River of the Underworld, the River Styx, which is the crossroads between life and death, the path of initiation into the world of Spirits, and also the symbol of the collective unconscious, the great underground river of universal archetypes, myth, symbol, wisdom and power that flows through each and every one of us.

The now-infamous Grand Mutable Cross forms and re-forms this month, perfecting this Sunday, June 19, and regressing into a potent T-Square on June 25. There is a fog of confusion, paranoia, anger, recrimination, and ego-inflation blanketing the collective consciousness. We are in the no-man’s land between one age and another. The way forward is uncharted. There are no gps systems that provide co-ordinates for the unfolding new world that will emerge in the new age to come. If anyone approaches you with a treasure map or some other deal that seems too good to be true, rest assured, it is!

Now is the time to celebrate the heightened sense of energy all around, the success of the spring planting and the joy of new love. Now the entire community rejoices in the commitment to an abundant future expressed in new marriages, ripening corn and wheat in the field, tomatoes forming on the vine and the seasonal sharing of the first ruby red strawberries.

During this Full Moon Festival, the love of Christ and the wisdom of the Buddha are showered down upon the Earth. Spiritual disciples of all paths and lineages and religions receive inspiration and instructions concerning their roles and duties for the upcoming year.

We are in the twilight of the age of mass industrialization and consumption, of a long spiritual cycle focused on the development of the individual sense of self. The Aquarian age of community is coming soon.
