This Full Moon week we are offered an opportunity for reflection and recuperation as we look back on what has been a difficult year, filled with tension, fear and anxiety about an uncertain future.

It feels like we are in a dark place here in America this Christmas season, as we approach the Winter Solstice, the time of longest, deepest darkness in the yearly seasonal cycle.

2025 featured the fracturing of America's post World War II geopolitical order, an increasingly overt global Cold War 2.0, the weaponization of all aspects of the global economy, the escalation of military conflicts in the Middle East, Ukraine and Africa, and more and more extreme weather events across the globe.

These rapid, convulsive changes to the global status quo created massive stressors impacting everyone's sense of safety and stability.

New technologies disrupted the job market here at home, creating more uncertainty and widespread fear.

America's technology giants invested trillions of dollars in Artificial Intelligence systems that have been adopted by major institutional players despite their many flaws, triggering widespread downsizing in major corporations, government agencies and universities.

As we discussed in previous newsletters, the American AI companies have failed utterly to achieve the global dominance they expected when the US government prohibited China from buying the latest generations of AI chips.

By year's end 2025 it is clear that Chinese artificial intelligence programs are nearly as robust as the American versions, much cheaper and energy efficient than American AI applications, and much easier to integrate into enterprise wide corporate and governmental systems than the American versions of AI.

Nor have leading American AI companies offered investors a credible path to profitability in the near, middle or long term, much less a path to global dominance.

IBM's CEO Arvind Krishna believes that America's AI giants are on a path to financial ruin. He estimates that at today’s costs it takes about $80 Billion to build a 1 GigaWatt AI data center, and points out American tech giants are planning on a ~100 GigaWatt data center buildout over the next few years. This implies roughly $8 Trillion of capital expenditures.

Krishna told the press that there's “no way you’re going to get a return on that,” since you’d need “about $800 billion of profit just to pay for the interest.” For comparison that $800 billion is more or less ten times Apple's yearly profit. And that's just for interest payments.

Bad as that sounds for the stock market, the ballooning AI Bubble may be just one part of a developing financial market poly-crisis.

Despite complacency among most investors in the American stock market, many analysts have expressed concerns about a triple financial bubble that threatens market stability in America and worldwide.

First there appears to be an AI stock market bubble, which we discussed in recent newsletters.

Second we see evidence of a crypto bubble this quarter, with Bitcoin valuations plummeting about 25% since September highs.

Third there is concern about a global debt bubble. "The amount of public debt accumulated by governments around the world shot past $100 trillion last year," according to a recent report by the World Economic Forum, which warns that the global total of public and private debt now stands at "more than three times the size of all global economic output."

The global economy is clearly very fragile going into 2026, and investors may want to exercise discernment as they rethink their tolerance for risk in the pursuit of capital gains.

The top 10% of American wealth holders may be stressed by potential downturns in markets, but problems are also multiplying for the vast majority of Americans, who have no exposure to financial markets because they have little or no savings to invest in financial assets, and thus no way to profit from the poly-bubbles currently in play.

Financial stress has hammered consumers this last year in the United States. Economic uncertainty, job insecurity, inflation, and record indebtedness has overwhelmed the bottom 80% of Americans, and only the very highest earners can afford the 21st Century version of the traditional American dream.

Black Friday Shoppers on the Run, WikimediaBlack Friday Shoppers on the Run,

"Consumer spending in 2025 has been largely driven by high-income households, with the top 10% accounting for nearly half of all spending in the second quarter, according to an analysis of Federal Reserve data by Mark Zandi, chief economist at financial research firm Moody's Analytics," as reported recently by CBS News.

"According to Adobe Analytics, U.S. consumers spent $6.4 billion on Thanksgiving Day and $11.8 billion online on Black Friday, both record highs and up significantly compared to last year," Newsweek reports. "But Salesforce data, cited by Forbes, found that order volume fell by about 1 percent year over year, while average selling prices were up 7 percent—indicating that much of the growth was caused by inflation rather than any uptick in shopping enthusiasm."

In short, the vast majority of Americans are experiencing increasing economic stresses. But they are spending and partying as if it's 1999 anyway. If their credit cards are maxed out they are finding other ways to borrow and spend. Buy now pay later king Klarna reports 45% growth in November sales this year.

As we observe the materialist, consumption frenzy unfolding around us, and the dysfunctional American economy and financial markets, we are more than happy to disengage from the rat race. Jane and I plan to focus on the deeper meaning of Christmas during this Winter Solstice season, and we are pleased that the astrological outlook for the month supports our plan.

December 4, 2025 Full Super Moon in Gemini Astrological Chart

There is good news in the starry skies for all those on the path of Spirit this month.

Saturn and Mercury have finally gone direct.

Mercury was retrograde from November 9th through the 29th, but is now moving forward in Scorpio, so this month we should all be able to think more clearly and communicate more effectively. We can expect to make well informed decisions for a change.

Saturn has been retrograde from July 12 through November 27, in the first degrees of Aries, and in the last degrees of Pisces.

Saturn retrograde often exacerbates chronic ailments, and mysterious health problems can be extremely hard to diagnose with Saturn retrograde generally, and with Saturn in Pisces in particular.

On the level of the collective consciousness, Saturn retrograde over the last few months has seen a steady erosion in public approval of America's governing institutions and American leaders in both the private and public sectors.

Perhaps now we can begin to determine what ails us on a personal level, and take steps to build new, solid foundations for our collective future.

This month the stars provide us with golden opportunities to view prolific meteor showers. The Geminids will be peaking on December 13-14, with up to 120 meteors per hour visible in our skies.

The Ursids will peak December 21-22, so get your blankets and find a spot away from city lights for best viewing.

Jane has written a beautiful poem about the Geminids, which you'll find below in the Meditation Moment section of this newsletter.

With Mars, Sun and Venus in Sagittarius this Full Moon week, we could be drawn to plunge into adventurous explorations of inner and outer worlds.

The Gemini Full Super Moon creates a strong desire to participate in social activities during this holiday season. So let's enjoy the company of friends and family. The interactions will strengthen our emotional bodies.

The luminaries speak to us of the potential for ease and grace this Full Moon week and for the rest of the month to come.

We are blessed with a Grand Trine in Water signs through December 11th.

Saturn and Neptune in Pisces trine Jupiter in Cancer and they all trine Venus in Scorpio, as you can see in the Full Moon chart above.

Go with the flow!

The Grand Trine in water signs this week is very appropriate for the seasonal change we will experience over the next month.

Archangel Gabriel presides over the winter season beginning this Solstice on Sunday, December 21, at 10:02 AM Eastern time, and Gabriel’s element is water.

Merry Christmas from Curtis and Jane
Life out of balance turns the water element from a source of life into a veritable curse.

Humans, plants, and animals rely upon reliable regular rainfall to thrive and survive.

Global warming forces the yearly rainfall cycles out of their dynamic balance, and this imbalance transforms the life-giving water element into a weapon of the gods.

In Indonesia this month floods have forced the evacuation of 1,000,000 people, ravaging entire regions of the country.

Drought in Iran right now is so severe that President Pezeshkian says he wants to move the capital, Tehran, somewhere else where water is more accessible.

Water is the astral element that governs our emotions.

And when our emotional bodies are out of balance, we lurch from event to event in a reactive state, at the mercy of events in the outer world and prey to our own lower emotions, like fear, anger, greed, and jealousy.

Despite the myriad of stressors that are impacting us this holy-day season, we can definitely utilize the energy of the Grand Water Trine to support us in practices designed to equilibrate runaway emotions.

We can purify ourselves with prayer, fasting and meditation to help cleanse the water element of impurities, a traditional set of Christian practices during the season of Advent preceding Christmas.

To help us keep the water element in balance in our emotional bodies, and to help us keep our heads cool and our hearts open in the face of humanity’s current crises, we can enlist the help of Archangel Gabriel during the next few weeks.

To help you tune in to the Gabriel Winter Mysteries we are pleased to offer you instructions for obtaining “The Winter Solstice Gabriel Initiation - The Vision of the Inner Sun", a simplified version of an Ancient technique that was originally offered only to advanced students of the Western Mystery School traditions.

Jane and I ask that the Archangel Gabriel favor you with a Vision of your path forward in life during this High Holy Season of the Winter Solstice, and that the Archangel’s trumpet blast penetrate your inner ear, awakening you to the Life Divine that dwells within you.

At the Winter Solstice, as we celebrate Archangel Gabriel and the good news he delivered in Bethlehem, we enter a three-day period when the sun appears to stand still from the standpoint of a viewer on Earth. Sol rises in the same place on the horizon for three days in a row.

The Winter Solstice is the shortest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. Why then does the Winter Solstice herald the onset of winter? As days grow longer, one might expect days to grow warmer as well.

So why don't they? The atmosphere and conditions on the Earth’s surface certainly determine the progress of seasonal climate change, but there is a time lag that must be taken into account.

The air, ground, rocks, lakes, rivers and oceans all conduct heat more slowly than the vacuum of space. After the Summer Solstice in June each year in the Northern Hemisphere, days grow shorter and the Earth loses heat, but water, ground and air release their heat slowly, so that even though days are growing shorter, warm conditions prevail for some time.

For some weeks after the winter solstice, the daily increase in heat from slightly longer days is much more than offset by the cumulative cooling of ground, air and water on the Earth’s surface, set in motion by the shorter days of fall, and cold weather prevails. It takes a long time for the rate of heating to overcome the rate of cooling, and that time lag determines the length of the winter season.

So as we enjoy winter sports or huddle around the fireplace, let us all meditate on the fact that despite appearances, day by day the Earth is creating a momentum toward light, warmth, growth and rebirth of vegetation on the Earth’s surface.

That momentum will spark the rebirth of plant life in the spring and sustain plant growth during the long summer season and the harvest of early fall in the coming year.

This mystery, the eternal return of the light, implicit in the moment of greatest darkness, is what we celebrate at the Winter Solstice.

“Annually at this festival point in December the celestial rhythm of Earth and Sun come momentarily to pause,” says biodynamic farmer, philosopher and astrologer Steven McFadden, “an anomaly that moves us inescapably into the deep, the dark, the other. At this Winter point, consciously or unconsciously, we set an inner pattern to guide what we will weave in the outer world through another solar cycle. We dream the dreams that will flower in another season. How much more powerful if we know we are dreaming? How much more beguiling if we know nature is inviting us to peer through the veils?”

The Winter Solstice Mysteries inspire us to maintain a positive attitude despite the appearance of great darkness in our national and global consciousness at this time. Initiates know the deepest darkness precedes the inevitable dawn.

The Christmas Story, The New Age and a Christmas Meditation on the Divine Mother

Christ was born at the cusp between the Age of Aries, the age of the Roman Empire, and the Age of Pisces.

The Piscean age began with the founding of the Church of Rome – and culminates and ends with the creation of the American Empire. The American Empire in its current form exists at the temporal borderline between the Age of Pisces and the Age of Aquarius.

This New Age of the Global American Empire exhibits many parallels to the paradoxical time of Christ’s birth, when Rome's Imperial glory, initiatic renewal and immense human and spiritual suffering coincided throughout the world.

At that time, Christ brought suffering humanity a tangible direct connection to the Holy Spirit – grounding the energy of Spirit in his own body and transmitting that same energy to his disciples and others around him.

Today we are each called upon to connect personally with the Holy Spirit through our own personal efforts.

We are each called upon to communicate the Divine Word as it is transmitted through us by that ubiquitous, loving, and divinely wise Spirit – for the healing of all nations and peoples, that we may further the Divine plan to bring about a New Age of peace and cooperation.

We are called upon to live our lives as though Christ were walking before us, to walk in the footsteps of Christ.

Let us meditate this Christmas season upon this responsibility, for this is the true meaning of Christmas.

There is a simple way to reconnect with the Christ within us, and to true Christmas Spirit. That is through connecting to the Divine Mother.

We can connect with the Divine Mother through a contemplation of the spiritual powers inherent in nature, and through her, we will connect with the Holy Spirit, for the Divine Mother is the incarnation of that Holy Spirit, and the embodiment of that Spirit’s loving wisdom.

In our article entitled A Christmas Story and Meditation Upon the Divine Motherwe explore the parallels between the time of Christ and today’s world, and we offer you a simple, profound meditation technique to connect to the Cosmic Christ and Holy Spirit through contemplation of the Mysteries of Nature and the Grace of the Divine Mother.

Jane and I send you all our love and Reiki blessings this holiday season -- the season of the soul's dark night and of the inevitable return of the light.

May you be illuminated this year and every year to come at the Nativity of the Christ Child, and may his birth signal a birth of Unity Consciousness within you that will connect you ever more closely to the Spirit of the Invincible Sun.

Meditation Moment: Geminids Ending, Lovejoy in the Sky by Jane Sherry, 2013/2025

We are all of us, made of starry stuff.

In the dark of the night,
I bundle up against the rare frost
for my predawn vigil.

First night I see seven meteors
streak through the sky near Big Dipper,
handle pointing east toward
where I know the sun will rise.

First night, 7 stars flying!
Next night, three, then two
fly by without my wishes.
To look, to see, to witness.
Big Dipper points the way each night.

Perhaps there was a time
I did not think of stars as gifts of
inspiration, though I cannot recall;
May we breathe in the stuff of stars!

What renews our Sense of Wonder?

For me, it is the heavenly skies.
Whether dancing under the full moon
with my big brother in suburbia

or seeing comet Hale-Bopp’s glittering trail
over the Hudson River in NYC with my love.
Full with Wonder.
I recall historic engravings of meteor showers.

I remember how easy it was to see
a ‘falling’ star on any night
when I was young. I wonder;

has light pollution marked this change?
or some other distraction
or diversion which shifted my attentions
and intentions from the numinous to the mundane?

The word mundane means The World; the secular world,
that of the earthly realm. In our Time, mundane
has come to mean something so dull and ordinary,
something de-valued and mired in the worthless.
This is the foundation for the destruction of our Mother.

We need to make holy again, the mundane.
We need to reclaim the sacred within every day.

Every day, not just during meteor showers, I vow to
arise before dawn, bless the heavens as the
first sight of my new day; then welcome the sun

which amazingly, each morning reappears
as though conjured by a hierophant or magician,
whether cloud covered or cast in pink and
lavender sky, spells for the dawn.

Each day then begins with awe for
this endless blessing. Each day can begin
with my gratitude for you, for I am not alone.

And together we can re-sacralize each moment,
knowing it is precious.
