Ruby is a beautiful, brilliant gemstone in the corundum family, which includes the sapphire. The ruby is the hardest and most expensive gemstone other than the diamond.
The rough ruby appears lusterless and manifests quite often as hexagonal prisms and rhombohedral shaped crystals. The ruby exhibits a color range from pink, crimson and red to orange red, and has been a favorite of royalty -- and of spiritual adepts --for millennia.
In the Hindu Vedas, the most ancient sacred Scriptures known to man, the ruby is called "ratnaraj", the "king of precious stones" and "ratnayaka", "leader of precious stone". The Masters of the Ancient Wisdom Teachings attributed the ruby's brilliant red hue to an inextinguishable fire within the stone.
Ruby is an extraordinary stone for opening the heart chakra and creating a feeling of physical security in an uncertain world, because the ruby's red color resonates with the red color of the root chakra in the Western chakra system, and the ruby is also associated metaphysically with the heart chakra. The ruby resonates to a very high frequency of unconditional love and is known as the "stone of nobility" .
In both Vedic teachings and medieval Christian mystery school traditions, the ruby conferred safety, security and peace to the bearer, even in the midst of war, turmoil and cultural upheaval, and was thus very highly prized by the warrior class of nobles in both East and West.
Further, the ruby has been used to attract wealth. It has been said that if one has ruby, wealth will never depart. Metaphysically, the ruby encourages us to follow our bliss, bringing clarity to our mental state, lucidity to the dream state and helping is to make sense of this in the physical realm.

Properties of Zoisite
Zoisite is a calcium aluminum silicate, often with some iron and manganese and is in the same group as epidote & tanzanite. Its color ranges from gray, yellowish brown, greenish, pink, blue (tanzanite) to violet. It is a fairly hard stone with a hardness value of 6-6.5.
Its orthorhombic form often occurs in long prismatic crystals which are deeply striated along the length.
Zoisite is a very uncommon mineral found in metamorphic rock and is found all over the world from Norway, where it was first discovered to Tanzania & California.
In meditation, Zoisite is a tool for peace: peace of mind, peace of body & peace of spirit. It allows for the gentle unfolding of ones Higher Purpose. Lightworkers and crystal healers can use zoisite as an alchemical stone of transformation. Zoisite has been used as a tool to completely transmute negative energy fields within an environment such as a room, a house, a garden or even an entire neighborhood.
My personal experience in meditating with zoisite has been very powerful. When feeling beset by negative emotions and thoughtforms in my surroundings, which I knew filled the entire neighborhood -- for a variety of reasons -- I took the zoisite in my right hand, the transmitting hand, and entered a deep meditative state.
I asked my Spiritual Guides and Teachers and my Guardian Angel for protection and help and set my intent that the zoisite should amplify the power of my positive emotions and thoughts, for the best and highest good of all those in my personal space and in the surrounding area.
I felt that the zoisite acted as a powerful conduit of energy from Source, which I felt filling my aura, pacifying my mind and opening my heart. Then I felt the zoisite's power as an omnidirectional amplifier of energy. The zoisite seemed to create a bubble of golden light around me and that field of golden energy began to expand, rippling outward.
As the rippling golden light encountered dark, cloudy fields of tangled emotions and conflicted thoughtforms in the area immediately around me, I felt the ripples of golden light begin to literally decompose the dark, heavy, negative energy field.
The negative energy began to disintegrate into tiny, insignificant shreds, as the powerful golden ripples of light continued to strengthen and expand the bubble of alchemical transmutation I had created with my prayerful intent.
I have also found that zoisite is a powerful gemstone ally for use in dreamtime. Just hold the crystal in either hand, and go to sleep, after setting your intent to dispel negative energy fields in your environment. I think you'll find that your sleep is deep and uninterrupted, and that you awaken feeling refreshed. I know I did.
The combination of Ruby with Zoisite is quite special in addition to its great beauty, it offers the practitioner a magical stone to access Higher Mind. One look in person at this beauty, and it is possible to believe that Magic & Healing are available to all who merely look upon its luminous 'face'.
