Hexagonal Magic Rainbow Dichroic Glass Smoky Phantom and Lemurian Quartz Vogel Wand by Kings Amao

Kings Amao created this unique 4.5" long Hexagonal Rainbow Dichroic Glass Phantom and Lemurian Quartz Vogel wand, weighing 92 grams or 3.25 ounces. First he cut a piece of six sided Clear Lemurian Quartz to fit with the Smoky Phantom Quartz shaft. Then he inserted an extremely thin slice of dichroic glass in the middle of the two quartz crystals and glued them all together.

The extremely thin pane of glass in the center of the wand is coated with microscopically thin layers of metallic oxides, which reflect light in unexpected ways.

Properties of Dichroic Glass

Two thousand years ago, Roman craftsmen added trace amounts of gold and silver to glass, and the metals partially reflected light passing through the glass, causing it to change color depending upon the viewing angle and the angle of the light source illuminating the glass object.

This was known as "dichroic glass", which come from the Greek for "two colored glass".

The Lycurgus Cup is Roman dichroic glass cup dating from the 4th Century AD which appears red when lit from behind, and green when lit from the back.

In the mid-20th Century NASA scientists at the Johnson Space Center in Houston wanted to protect astronauts' eyes and mission critical computers from the harsh radiation experienced outside the Earth's shielding atmosphere.

NASA vaporized metals with electron beams in a vacuum chamber and applied the ultra thin metallic film directly onto glass, in a layer about 30 millionths of an inch thick. 

This created a form of dichroic glass that reflects harmful radiation in space while remaining transparent to the human eye. 

Modern dichroic glass is composed of dozens of ultra thin layers of metal oxides, such as titanium, chromium and aluminum, which can create startling colorful effects when used as a laminate in fine jewelry and glass artworks.

21st Century artisans and lapidaries can utilize various forms of dichroic glass to create jewelry and artworks with a variety of stunning, colorful effects.

Properties of Phantom Quartz

This phantom was created when a faceted tip formed at one point in the crystal's growth, but the crystal's growth was interrupted for some reason, and then the quartz crystal resumed its crystallization, eventually enclosing the phantom crystal outline within itself.

One possibility is that a pocket inside the earth surrounding the crystal dried out, stopping the crystal's growth. When a crystal's growth is interrupted for some reason, a thin dusting of such minerals as pyrite, hematite, chlorite or galena can gather on the termination faces.

Perhaps the pocket was later resaturated, triggering another stage of crystal growth.
If the crystal's growth then resumes, over long cycles of crystalline growth, the dusting of alien minerals covering the crystal's original termination faces, is incorporated into a much larger quartz crystal than the original.

This long growth process creates a piece with the classic phantom crystal point which can be seen within a larger crystal. Sometimes one can see two or three phantom points within a given crystal wand, and in such cases, the growth process was undoubtedly stopped and started several times over unthinkably long periods of geological time.

The final result is the formation of a "phantom crystal", much larger than the original crystal structure at the point of growth interruption.

The phantom typically displays one or more translucent thin, cloud-like layers of mineral deposits resembling small points. Each layer of cloudy inclusion contains a revealing snapshot of the crystal's termination faces in the remote past. Each phantom marking represents a different stage in the crystal's growth -- and each stage can last for hundreds of thousands of years! Each phantom crystal reveals its own evolutionary pattern -- it is as though we can see the record of the transmigrations of the crystal's soul.

It should come as no surprise that phantom crystals help us to unearth our own histories, and to come to terms with unresolved issues from our past. Phantoms help us to see our own messy histories and our painful karmic issues as part of a beautiful spiritual evolution. In this way, they help to restore a sense of inner balance, unity and an aura of magic where there had been pain and struggle.

Properties of Lemurian Crystals

In the occult histories of clairvoyant early Twentieth Century spiritual pioneers H.P. Blavatsky, Alice Bailey and Rudolf Steiner, the Atlantean and Lemurian cultures were depicted as the ancient ancestors of all the Mystery School teachings of the Hindu, Mesopotamian, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, and Western European civilizations.

In the early 1990s, crystal healers discovered a variety of quartz crystal from Brazil that was believed to have been implanted into the Earth by Lemurian Light workers, aeons ago.

The exact time frame of the Lemurian civilization is open to question, as is the exact nature of their civilization, although crystal healers and Light workers have identified the Lemurians who are said to have planted the crystals as Earthkeepers -- exalted beings whose primary purpose was to act as guardians of the ecosystem ecosystem.

Lemurian crystals occur naturally with multiple striations, and are considered more valuable when these striations have been left intact & not polished off of the crystals. Lemurian multiple striations are thought to contain information from ancient civilizations. Lemuria is said to have been an intuitive, spiritual civilization.

The most prominent source of information about Lemurian civilization comes from wisdom teachers of the now-legendary Theosophical School of the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, which included such luminaries as J. Krishnamurti, Madame Blavatsky, Alice Bailey, Rudolf Steiner and Charles Leadbeater.

These spiritual teachers claimed to have had clairvoyant insights into the history and origins of the human race that transcended all existing scholarship and historical records. These clairvoyant mystics relied upon a direct experience of the Akashic Records to formulate their own timeline of human development.

The Akashic Records are said to constitute a vast, ethereal library containing all of humanity's thoughts, words and deeds which has been impressed upon the substance of the vast Universal Field of Life Force Energy filling all time and space.

In fact, the information in the Akashic Records is considered Universal in nature, and transcends human history. Scholars of the Hindu Vedas, the oldest written sacred scriptures on our planet, say that the wisdom in the Vedas was transcribed by ancient seers and sages, known as "rishis", who read the Akashic records and recorded what they saw.

According to mystic, clairvoyant, author and scholar Rudolf Steiner, who broke with the Theosophical Society and founded the Waldorf Schools and biodynamic agriculture, the Lemurian civilization existed prior to Atlantis, and existed in South Asia and Africa, extending from Ceylon to Madagascar.

According to Steiner, the Lemurians derived immense powers of will and strength from a direct connection to the energy bodies of plants and animals around them. The Lemurian was, says Steiner, "a born magician in all fields of lower human activities." Steiner discusses the Lemurian civilization extensively in his book "Cosmic Memory" and in many other publications and lectures.

According to Steiner, Lemurian institutions of higher learning focused on teaching initiates secret techniques enabling them to control the forces of nature by direct contemplation. Steiner said these Lemurian mystery schools "stood far above what mankind has since acquired in the way of arts and sciences." He called them "colleges of will power and of the clairvoyant power of the imagination. From them emerged men who became, in every respect, rulers of the others."

Steiner says that life on Earth was vastly different then. The "air was much thicker", the "water much thinner." The ground was thin and broken apart continually by the action of convulsive volcanic forces. The Earth in this period was shaped by the primal element of Fire. What we know as small ferns existed as giants of the plant world. Only amphibians, birds and lower animals existed. The vast majority of humanity lived a very primitive life, which can only be described as animalistic in nature.

Yet for those in the Lemurian mystery schools, life was exalted beyond what we know today. "The uninitiated, of course, stood under the magical influence of the initiated," says Steiner. "It was also natural that the latter considered themselves sanctified personages. . . They looked into the creative workshop of nature. They experienced a communion with the beings who built the world itself. One can call this communion an association with the gods."

Steiner says that in the later periods of the more highly developed Lemurian civilization, the role of female initiates was paramount, and that these female initiates were responsible for planting the seeds of the knowledge of good and evil in the soul of mankind, as well as for developing the first human awareness of beauty, and for cultivating the first human language, a kind of song.

Thus all subsequent human civilizations owe a huge debt of gratitude to the Lemurian priestesses, who created the first Mystery Schools teaching enlightenment through direct experience of nature, the first human system of ethics, the first art and highly developed system of aesthetics and the first, prototypical human language.

Now the Lemurian civilization's artifacts have been rediscovered by Light workers whose energy and auric signatures resonate harmonically with the energy of the original Lemurian sages and healers, who were Spiritual Stewards of the Earth.

Mineralogical and Metaphysical Properties of Smoky Quartz

Mineralogists say there may be more than one cause for the gray to brown to black color range of this very popular form of quartz crystal, ranging from sodium to other minerals in the crystal. According to Melody ("Love is in the Earth"), smoky quartz is produced by the presence of sodium in clear crystal, facilitating the regulatation of fluids in the body, acting much like a mineral supplement bringing mineral equilibrium.

Other mineralogists suggest other theories concerning the dark pigment in smoky quartz, including the presence of trivalent titanium or the presence of carbon compounds.

Some mineralogists suggest that the characteristic dark brown to black color of smoky quartz is produced when clear quartz is exposed to natural radiation emanating from radioactive rocks in the same geological formation where the quartz crystals form and grow. The current scientific hypothesis is that when clear quartz is exposed to radiation, the radiation alters the oxidation states of mineral impurities found within the quartz structure, resulting in smoky quartz.

“The frequent occurrence of smoky quartz in association with rare earth and radioactive minerals is very significant, for later it will be indicated that smoky quartz may have been colored through the action of radioactive elements,” says the University of Michigan’s Edward F. Holden, in a 1925 article in The American Mineralogist. “In Ontario smoky quartz is a constant associate of radioactive minerals, and the same association is frequent in Madagascar. Enormous smoky quartz crystals occur in the well known radioactive pegmatite of Baringer Hill, Texas.”

“The evidence given thus far is in agreement with the theory that smoky quartz owes its color to atoms of silicon, formed by the disintegration of silica, through the action of radium radiations,” Holden continues. “The mechanism of the formation of the free silicon may perhaps be pictured in this way: The radiations may remove the four outer electrons from a silicon atom, which would then be equally shared by the two associated oxygen atoms. As a result, two free oxygen atoms and a free silicon atom would be formed.

They could take no part in the crystal structure since their attractive force for other atoms would have been destroyed. Hence, they should act as small inclusions, the silicon atoms producing the light-scattering and the color so characteristic of smoky quartz. We would expect the silicon atoms to be most effective in scattering light because of their greater atomic weight, and the possibility of the escape of the oxygen atoms.”

From this scientific analysis it is clear that smoky quartz, although quite likely formed through the action of radioactive elements, is not radioactive itself, and this perfectly natural process is not detrimental to the crystals or to human beings utilizing these crystals for ornamentation, in meditation, for crystal healing, or for any other purpose.

Smoky quartz has been a favorite healing stone of shamanistic practitioners around the world for thousands of years.

According to modern day energy healers, smoky quartz works slowly and thoroughly to relieve imbalances in the physical and etheric bodies, with special emphasis on the solar plexus and its associated chakra, the third or Manipura chakra associated with personal power and vital energy. Marcel Vogel's work with Healing Crystals
