Cosmic Weather Forecast

As we look back on this year of intense personal change, which began with a move from New York to California just before last spring, we recall the heart-felt agony triggered by the Deepwater Horizon disaster, apocalyptic fires in Russia, the floods in Pakistan, the cholera crisis in Haiti, the periodic panics in global financial markets, the riots in Athens, Paris, Rome and London, the TSA groping scandals, and the sky-high unemployment rate in America.

This Full Moon in Pisces humanity ascends the cross of transformation. The challenge for us all, individually and collectively, is to leave behind our everyday concerns, our mental maps of the world, and our typical emotional reactions to stress and conflict, and to allow Spirit to open our hearts and connect us with Higher Mind. The path is one of suffering and the destination is a place where suffering is no more.

This is a weekend to celebrate our own unique individuality, and to honor our own deepest heartfelt impulses and intuitive spiritual guidance. It's time everyone on Earth began to trust their own heart and their own Higher Self rather than what they see or hear on TV, radio, Internet or newspapers. That's the first step toward global transformation, after all.

Today is the Festival of Humanity, celebrated during the Full Moon in Sagittarius. The Sabian symbol for this degree of Sagittarius is this: "Cupid knocks at the door of a human heart." This is a Full Moon for lovers!

After a month or so of very ragged energy, sharp Saturn-Pluto aspects and an active Uranus cycle that seems to affect computers, computer networks, deliveries dependent upon such networks, all technology, tools and houses, and trigger unexpected health crises, we could all use a day or two of sweet Cosmic Weather. Good news! This Winter Solstice is extremely well-aspected.

We as a culture have consigned the ancient wisdom teachings to a museum of the mind as if they were an ancient sword, an obsolete weapon. Now is the time to seize the ancient sword in our own hands, using it to disperse the demons of fear, anger, doubt and uncertainty that beset us.

There is a very positive Grand Fire Trine this week to counterbalance the energies of the Cardinal T-Square occurring at this Full Moon. The Grand Fire Trine creates an atmosphere of self-confidence and optimism that is essential to taking the dramatic actions required to offset the difficulties manifested in synchronicity with the Cardinal T-Square, which tend to persist over long periods of time through intransigent conflicts, political gridlock and general indecision.

This Easter Festival, we are being provided with an infusion of loving wisdom directly from the Christ, intended to help us in the difficult task of opening our hearts to one another in these troubled times and empowering us to help those least among us. Let us RISE to the occasion!

This Leo Full Moon Aquarius Solar Festival is the ideal time to ask Spirit to release you from your habitual patterns of thought and old ways of being. Aquarius is the sign of innovative thinking, group work and humanitarianism, so this is the time to overcome all self-imposed limitations and faulty mental maps of the world.

By consistent practice and the Grace of the Divine, we can transform our hearts and our energy signatures. We can alchemically transmute the lead of egotistical rationality into the gold of Unity consciousness. We can eventually transform our hearts from leaden mirrors that can at best occasionally be cleaned sufficiently to reflect the Holy Spirit in some small way into luminous light-giving Sources of energy, true inner tabernacles lit by undimmable lamps of radiance serving as the suitably purified homes of Spirit.

We are witnessing the slow motion collapse of “globalization”, which is shorthand for a set of political, economic and social policies, including Reaganomics, free trade and the leveling down of global wages, human rights and environmental protection, financial deregulation and corporate oligarchy.
