What happens to my personal information you gather? SatyaCenter.com does not sell, rent, give, trade or share your personal information with third parties without your prior consent except as compelled by law (see last section for details). When you sign up for our mailing list, you can rest assured that your email address and other personal information remains secure on SatyaCenter computers far removed from the servers that deliver our web content to you. We use your email address only to communicate with you when you request such communication by joining our mailing list or for other purposes at your request. SatyaCenter.com is a Verisign certified secure site, using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology to protect your credit card number and personal information on the Internet when you purchase products and services on our website. Powerful encryption algorithms scramble your credit card number and personal information so that it cannot be decoded or read even if intercepted in transit. What about cookies? We do not research your buying or surfing habits as an identifiable individual. We do not use cookies or other technologies to track your movements on our website in order to deliver advertising or other customized services to you. SatyaCenter.com does use cookies to record the numerical Internet Protocol address (IP address) of the computer you are using, the browser software you use and the operating system, the date and time you access our site, and the Internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site. This means that we do not have access to or keep any personally identifiable information about you and connect that information to your surfing habits. We use this information to gather broad demographic information about our visitors, none of that information personal. We also use this information to measure the number of visitors to different sections of our website, to diagnose and correct system errors and to improve the site's navigability and architecture for our viewers. We do not connect this information to your name or any personally identifiable information. What about SatyaCenter's partners? We work closely with select Web partners who provide premium content services to SatyaCenter.com readers. An example is Pacific News Service. You can always tell when a third party is supplying content because the partners logo will be prominently displayed on the SatyaCenter.com website, and generally you will access that content in a pop-up window. All the products and services in the SatyaCenter.com store are provided by SatyaCenter and NOT by our partners or affiliates. Our privacy and security policies fully cover all transactions within the SatyaCenter.com store. When you utilize the services of SatyaCenter partners, and if you purchase services from the partner's website, NOT from the SatyaCenter.com store, then your activities are covered by the partner's privacy policy. What about transaction information? Our payment system utilizes FirstData Corp. to process credit card transactions through the Bank of New York. We gather only the information that is required to process these transactions. Your credit card information is collected by the credit card processor on their servers and SatyaCenter.com has no access to that information. We do collect transaction information as required by law for accounting purposes, including your name, address, transaction information, and the date of purchases, so that we can pay appropriate sales taxes in New York state. Compelled Disclosure If we are required by law to disclose the information that you have submitted, we will attempt to provide you with notice (unless we are prohibited) that a request for your information has been made in order to give you an opportunity to object to the disclosure. We will attempt to provide this notice by email, if you have given us an email address, or by postal mail if we have your postal address. If you do not challenge the disclosure request, we may be legally required to turn over your information.
