Summer Poetry 2007

Go, Soul, go! I know
You're nowhere in the whole
Cosmos, though you're also
So close you don't show.

Molecular universes allow
No immaterial presences. So
Let's let there be an impossible
Otherworldly world, a halo

Blue Lake Girl with Streaming Light
by Jane Sherry

Layer, if you will, where all
Prayer goes. There,
Which is nowhere, let's recall,
You go! You go, Soul!

I know you're not folded in
The pupil in the iris of
An eye, nor in the vessel of
The heart, and not the ventricles

Of brain, the cells of neural
Networks in the skull, the crucial
Marrow in the bones blood
Comes from, not

A feral ally I may have
Met in dream, no winged
Messenger resembling a gull,
Nor eagle, heron, Tinkerbelle-like

Little helper, no
Personal invisible cloud, no
Subtle glow, energy shell or
Untapped power reservoir. Though,

I know you are, and aren't
Knowable. I'll call you
My forever, like the water
Of the river, before

While and after it jostles
The twig jammed in the stones, where
The world-life wears down.
Go,Soul, go, on while I drown!
