Description

This 4.33 inch long Brazilian Amethyst Phantom Scepter, weighing 5.3 oz., or 150.3 grams, exhibits the biomorphic form consistent with the formation of scepter wands. You can see that the crystal resembles a flower stalk with a bulbous phantom termination tip. The phantom formation within the tip inside the wand has some druzy crystals. Druzy refers to a crystal that is partially or totally encrusted with smaller gemmy crystals.

In this case, the main shaft of the amethyst crystal formed over time, elongating the formation, until it reached created a flowerstalk shaft and a bulbous termination tip of violet amethsyt. Then changing conditions in the area around the crystal precipitated a coating of large gemmy quartz crystals on the termination tip. After a quiet period of geological time, the crystal began to grow again, creating a newer layer of quartz that overlays the druzy crystal coating on the tip. This is truly a mineralogical collector's item and a Lightworker's power tool, resonating with the energy of the Violet Flame of St. Germain.

Mineralogical and Metaphysical Properties of Phantom and Scepter Crystals

A scepter crystal is a rare type of crystal formation in which the main crystal formed around a pre-existing crystal rod, resulting in a unique geological geometry.

The original crystal rod formed over vast periods of geological time and then, conditions changed, and became more favorable to crystal growth. Perhaps the crystal was surrounded by a solution of super-saturated silica, for instance, triggering a rapid growth spurt.

Mineralogists suggest that rapid growth favors the formation of a crystal’s point rather than its faces because points are composed primarily of edges, and during rapid crystalline growth edges and points generate a higher electrical charge than the rest of the crystal, and this higher electrical charge attracts silica molecules, which then form an engorged head, knob, or point around the pre-existing crystal rod, which acts as a handle for the new crystal scepter.

In any case, there is no doubt that all scepter crystals had a “troubled childhood” which typically involved two-stages of crystallization, and oftentimes earthquake shocks, multiple freeze-thaw cycles and severe transformations in the chemical composition of the pockets within which crystals form and grow.

Scepter crystals are considered by 21st Century lightworkers to be powerful amplifiers of energy, which can transmit as much energy as other quartz crystals many times their size.

This type of crystal scepter was used by ancient high priests and priestesses as a mark of their spiritual station. Such scepters were traditionally used as energy transmitters and library crystals, providing spirit workers with access to Timeless Wisdom Teachings and to Spirit Guides residing in Higher Worlds.

Scepter crystals are considered to be marvelous tools for inward reflection, for connecting with the Higher Self, and for communicating with Spirit Guides and Teachers in meditation and for energy work. In addition they are ideal for use in acupressure and Reiki treatments targeting specific meridians and organs of the body.

This phantom was created when a faceted tip formed at one point in the crystal's growth, but the crystal's growth was interrupted for some reason, and then the quartz crystal resumed its crystallization, eventually enclosing the phantom crystal outline within itself.

One possibility is that a pocket inside the earth surrounding the crystal dried out, stopping the crystal's growth. When a crystal's growth is interrupted for some reason, a thin dusting of such minerals as pyrite, hematite, chlorite or galena can gather on the termination faces.

Perhaps the pocket was later resaturated, triggering another stage of crystal growth.

If the crystal's growth then resumes, over long cycles of crystalline growth, the dusting of alien minerals covering the crystal's original termination faces, is incorporated into a much larger quartz crystal than the original.

This long growth process creates a piece with the classic phantom crystal point which can be seen within a larger crystal. Sometimes one can see two or three phantom points within a given crystal wand, and in such cases, the growth process was undoubtedly stopped and started several times over unthinkably long periods of geological time.

The final result is the formation of a "phantom crystal", much larger than the original crystal structure at the point of growth interruption.

The phantom typically displays one or more translucent thin, cloud-like layers of mineral deposits resembling small points. Each layer of cloudy inclusion contains a revealing snapshot of the crystal's termination faces in the remote past. Each phantom marking represents a different stage in the crystal's growth -- and each stage can last for hundreds of thousands of years! Each phantom crystal reveals its own evolutionary pattern -- it is as though we can see the record of the transmigrations of the crystal's soul.

It should come as no surprise that phantom crystals help us to unearth our own histories, and to come to terms with unresolved issues from our past. Phantoms help us to see our own messy histories and our painful karmic issues as part of a beautiful spiritual evolution. In this way, they help to restore a sense of inner balance, unity and an aura of magic where there had been pain and struggle.

Mineralogical and Metaphysical Properties of Amethyst

Amethyst is the gemstone variety of quartz, produced by the presence of manganese in clear quartz crystal. Increments of iron within the crystal as it formed vary the color of the amethyst, which ranges from pale lilac to deep purple. Amethyst has been popular with royalty, sages, mystics and magicians for centuries.

“Fine amethysts are featured in the British Crown Jewels and were also a favorite of Catherine the Great and Egyptian royalty,” according to the International Colored Gemstone Association.

“Leonardo Da Vinci wrote that amethyst was able to dissipate evil thoughts and quicken the intelligence,” according to the ICGA website.

“Because amethyst was thought to encourage celibacy and symbolize piety, amethyst was very important in the ornamentation of Catholic and other churches in the Middle Ages. It was, in particular, considered to be the stone of bishops and they still often wear amethyst rings,” continues the ICGA. “In Tibet, amethyst is considered to be sacred to Buddha and rosaries are often fashioned from it.”

Amethyst is said to enhance spirituality, raise the vibrational level of the holder, cleanse the astral, etheric and physical bodies, and produce a peaceful, tranquil state of mind. The color violet is associated with the crown chakra in the Western chakra system, and so this extremely bright violet amethyst is said by crystal healers to activate and energize the crown chakra, connecting the bearer to Higher Mind, Higher Realms and inner spiritual guidance from extremely elevated and reliable Sources.

We use amethyst as a spiritual purifier, a way to protect the etheric body from outer stresses, be they of a spiritual, mental, physical, personal or impersonal nature.
Amethyst is classically the stone of sobriety, purity and chastity and would be an excellent stone for those with tendencies toward addictive behavior, or for those spiritual seekers intent upon transformation through the progressive purification of mind, body and aura.

The color of amethyst is violet, the color of the seventh, or crown chakra, in the human energy body, and the Violet Ray is the Seventh of the Seven Rays of Creation. The Seventh Ray is one aspect of the Holy Spirit, a combination of the blue flame of faith and the pink flame of love.

Count St. GermainThe Ascended Master who is Master of the Seventh Ray is Count St. Germain, the eighteenth century reincarnation of the Western Mystic and Adept Christian Rosenkreuz, apochryphal founder of the Rosicrucian Order. The Seventh Ray focus greatly on the use of ceremonial magic and alchemy to purify and transmute the lower, animal instincts of humanity into higher impulses, higher thought-forms, more evolved emotional states, and more purified energetic signatures at all levels of being.

In the pantheon of modern day New Age Guides and Teachers, the Count Saint Germain is called "The World Teacher" and "The Master of the Violet Ray" and is thought to communicate mind-to-mind with many, many students around the world. There is thought to be a large contingent of his students alive today in the United States, the center of modern Empire, just as Paris was the center of European Empire at the time of St. Germain.

Many New Age students of St. Germain utilize crystals and gemstones in their spiritual practice, for healing and in meditation, in a modern alchemical quest for Higher Self, Higher Mind and Higher Purpose. Modern New Age practice encompasses a belief in the theory of karma and reincarnation. The belief in reincarnation has its roots in the Hindu and Egyptian Mystery School traditions, and is fundamental to the Greek Mystery School Tradition of the pre-Socratic philosophers, as we discuss at great length in the online E-Book Spirits of Stone: A Lightworker's Guide to Crystals for Healing and Meditation.

New Age students of the Ancient Wisdom Teachings often utilize crystals and gemstones, along with meditation techniques, Reiki and past life regression therapy to access memories of past lives, and to release the detrimental patterns of behavior, negative emotions and outmoded mental maps of the world imprinted in our cells, our hearts, our minds and our karma from traumas experienced aeons ago.

Many of these modern acolytes of the Great Alchemist utilize crystals and gemstones thought to resonate with the energy vibration of the Violet Ray, under the guidance of Master St. Germain for purification and to raise the kundalini energy in a quest for Unity Consciousness. Such crystals and gems include especially amethyst, that violet colored form of quartz once so favored by the Pope and Bishops of the Catholic Church.

We often use crystals for psychic protection, purification and to clarify things of a spiritual nature. See our article on Psychic Self Defense for more information along these lines with many suggestions on how to protect yourself from unwanted energies.
