Structure of the Universe

by James Bertolino print version
print version (graphics)
A New Work

Richard Grossinger says,
"the structure
of the universe

is the thought pattern
of the people."

Perhaps a bit
human chauvinist,

but sounds like
the Jesuit Teilhard
de Chardin
or some quantum mechanical
theologian.

What else
follows
the pattern?

Seems obvious:
the shape of a poem,

the structure
of its thought.
Run it by faster, rethink it
at different speed?

Does our anxiety shift the cosmos?

Given Chaos Theory, which
suggests a butterfly's
wings can cause
a hurricane
thousands of miles and days
in the distance,

what effect will my sudden
mood-shift instigate

in the far reaches
of the Milky Way?

But the question most important
to me: is the body shaped
by its thoughts?

Can feeling
be spherical, love be two
spheres
touching at all points,
one skin gloving

the other
to be one?

Is the universe modeled
on the empathy
of love?
