The rare violet scapolite we recently obtained is a translucent, fluorescent metamorphic gemstone found in Afghanistan that commonly appears in short tetragonal prisms with a square cross-section. The name "scapolite" is derived from the Greek skapos or "shaft", referring to the cubic crystalline forms this stone often takes. Gemstones from Afghanistan are rare on today's market, and have been hard to export from that war-torn country for many years. Common colors of scapolite are white, gray, and green. One well-known source for the more common forms of scapolite is in limestone deposits in Canada. Violet Afghani scapolite gemstones are quite difficult to obtain, and have substantial value as mineralogical collector's items as well as metaphysical properties of great value to Lightworkers, meditators and crystal healers. This lovely medium-small faceted Scapolite gemstone has beautiful color and a lovely feel in the hand. An alcehmical stone of transformation, scapolite vibrates in resonance with the Violet Ray! When we first meditated with this small lovely gem, we felt a wonderful connection to Divine Source. A lovely vision of a deep purple eye appeared, shooting forth rays of violet light, enfolding us from crown to toes. As we were literally engulfed in this violet stream of light, mental chatter came to a halt, and a celestial calm relaxed body and mind. We both felt all of the chakras being aligned and grounded at the base of the spine, then synchronized and opened as the powerful cleansing energy of the Violet Ray rose up to the crown & above connecting to Higher Self. In some ways, this experience resembles meditations with Super 7, which also grounds the bearer while simultaneously opening the crown chakra. This batch of scapolite, was recently found to have been heat treated with hot lights, not chemical treatment. So make sure you keep these little treasures out of the sunlight which can fade it to a more pale violet hue. If this happens, you can place the stone back under a heat lamp to restore the color.
