This digitized version of a magic lantern piece was originally made on a small 4 x 5 orange index card, using oil stick and scotch tape. You can still see the scotch tape marks in the digital printout. It is very representative of my early work with it's playful rebellion against symbols of authority. Here the cross of Christianity is wielded like a staff or talisman emitting Divine Light by the small child, surrounded by a halo to indicate she is a priestess of the Divine Mother.
