Painted Cabbage began as a digitized photo of one of the beautiful, over-sized heads of cabbage we received from Roxbury Farm, in upstate New York, which delivers vegetables to over 800 families from Manhattan to Albany every week during the growing season.

I used the program Painter and a Wacom tablet to painstakingly paint the photo at 400% of its true size, transforming the original photo into a digital painting. You can see its numinous qualities in a detail below.

Painted Cabbage is offered in a signed, limited edition of 250, printed on 11" x 8.5" archival matte paper.
