Licensed Acupuncturist & Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner

My formal training is acupuncture and Chinese herbs. I also incorporate aromatherapy to enhance the treatment results. There are different modalities of acupuncture besides using needles, which may be intimidating to those with needle phobias. I incorporate the following modalities of acupuncture and Chinese medicine to guide people to achieve better health.

Moxibustion
is one of them. Moxa (short version of moxibustion) is heat therapy burning herbs called mugwort on skin directly and indirectly to promote flow of qi, strengthen the qi and unblock the stagnation.

Cupping is very famous because of certain celebrity utilizing it to detoxify the body. Glass cups placed on the body to detoxify or to promote the movement of qi.

Guasha is similar to cupping in its function with different treatment modality.

Electrical stimulation is used with or without needles. It is very effective on pain and weight management. Many patients find it satisfying with the result for their weight management.

Magnet therapy is used of different gauss of magnets applied to acupuncture point to reduce pain and promote healing on affected site of the body.

Ear needles and seeds (or silver and gold pellets) are used to detoxify substance abuse such as social drugs, cigarette, and alcohol, and other mental, physical as well as emotional imbalance.

Facial acupuncture is natural way to rejuvenate your skin with combination of acupuncture with needles, acupressure and herbal poultice.

Shoni-Shin is originated in Japan. It is an acupuncture specifically designed for children (although it can be used on adults) without inserting needles on child’s body. A variety of metal or plastic tools are used to rub, lightly scrape, tap or roll over the points on acupuncture meridians (channels), on or just above the child's skin.

Sooji Chim is originated in Korea. It uses the palms of both hands to treat the symptoms. The needles used for this Korean acupuncture are half inch in size and usually thinner than Chinese acupuncture needles.

Chinese herbal medicine is another way of balancing mental, emotional and physical imbalances. There are more than 1,000 herbs used in Chinese herbal medicine including minerals and animal parts (there are plants substitutes for vegetarians). Chinese herbs are not usually used as single herb though one may take it as single herb. It is more effective when they are used in conjunction with other herbs so they could enhance other herbs functions and counter balance other herbs toxicity.

Life style and food counseling are another approach to improve a person’s health. We live in a society that promotes too much stress and negative stimulation, which leads to energetic disharmony.

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils to promote healing in emotional levels as well as physical level.
