Reiki is a Twentieth Century Japanese system of natural healing and spiritual enlightenment, introduced to the world by Dr. Mikao Usui.

Curtis Lang and Jane Sherry are Unlimited Reiki and Karuna Reiki Masters & Usui Practitioners and are certified to treat and to teach Unlimited and Karuna Reiki techniques, and members of the International Association of Reiki Practitioners (IARP).

A recent IARP survey of American hospitals indicates that many major hospitals now use Reiki for its therapeutic benefits both pre and post-surgery, and for patients suffering from stress and other disorders.

Curtis and Jane have used Reiki to treat patients living with HIV/AIDS at the Greyston Foundation's Adult Health Care Program, the Maitri Center, in Yonkers, New York over the course of six months in 2004.

Working at Greyston, Curtis and Jane developed a Reiki technique where they both work on a client at the same time, covering the entire body with the Reiki hand positions more quickly, enabling a client to experience a full body treatment in half the time, for 30 minutes instead of the traditional 60 minute single practitioner treatment. A treatment given with both a female practitioner and a male practitioner creates a doubly safe environment, where trust and relaxation encourage the client's own qualities of balance and harmony to be restored.

Treatments done in this fashion often create profound emotional and soul responses from the client as well and provide an opportunity after the session, to integrate emotions that may have arisen during the treatment, and receive feedback from both a male and female perspective. After developing this technique at Greyston, Curtis and Jane discovered that both the original Japanese Usui practitioners and also the United States' National Institute of Health recommend giving treatments with two practitioners for each client.

Curtis and Jane can also bring their knowledge of aromatherapy, crystal healing techniques, flower essence and releasing work to the table if needed, when working with a client. Of course, for those that prefer it, the more traditional hour long single practitioner treatments are always available for clients.

For those who would like to experience Reiki, but either have less time, less money or simply want to feel more balanced, Chakra Balancing Sessions, which last for thirty minutes are available, usually given by one practitioner either in person or in a distance treatment. The Chakra Balancing Treatment is a simplified, less extensive Reiki treatment, basically adjusting the chakras for more harmonious flow within ones being. (Note: Jane & Curtis' regular distance Reiki treatment--given by two practitioners over the course of 30 minutes-is the equivalent of a full body treatment, plus a chakra balancing treatment).

Reiki can be used to relieve symptoms of asthma, allergies, arthritis, back problems, and migraine, to promote healing, relieve fear and stress, lower blood pressure, and energize depressed patients and those with symptoms of fatigue.

Reiki can also be beneficial in releasing emotional blockages that prevent the healthy flow of universal life force energy throughout body, mind and aura.

Reiki is not a religion, but can be a powerful tool to supercharge your spiritual practice.

Reiki tradition tells us that Tibetan monks, Japanese Zen practitioners and New Age seekers have all used Reiki and similar energy healing techniques to increase the ability to meditate deeply for prolonged periods of time.

Reiki treatments can induce spontaneous recall of past lives, and spontaneous contact with inner spiritual guidance. Reiki can also be used to remove unwanted attachments to people who exert a negative influence on us, either consciously or unconsciously.

Testimonial From One of Our Clients in Texas

“Curtis and Jane used distance Reiki to help me prepare for major surgery. Despite using acupuncture, guided imagery and other relaxation techniques, I was afraid of possible complications. During the second session, a voice told me quite clearly that I would be OK. My body relaxed instantly and I could feel the positive energy flowing in. It was an extremely powerful experience. The surgery went well. I lost less blood and required less pain medication than expected and left the hospital a day early. Afterwards, regular distance Reiki sessions gave me more energy and helped speed my post-op recovery. Now, the sessions provide an oasis of calm, while giving me an energy boost and keeping me motivated to follow a healthier lifestyle.”
