What is Reflexology?
Reflexology is the art of stress reduction based on the work of two American physicians, Dr. William Fitzgerald and Dr. Joe Shelby Riley in the 1920s.Reflexology is a scientific method based on the principle that there are energy zones that run throughout the body and reflex areas in the feet that correspond to all major organs, glands, and body parts.With gentle manipulation of the specific areas on the feet with the thumbs, fingers and hands, these reflex points are stimulated, releasing blocked energy, stimulating glands, organs and body systems.

What is Reiki?
Reiki (pronounced Ray-Key) is a Japanese word representing Universal Life Force Energy, the energy that creates and supports all life that is positive, healing and balancing in nature.Dr. Mikao Usui, a Japanese educator, developed the Usui System of Reiki Healing which is based upon 2500 year-old healing techniques and Buddhist teachings. A Reiki session is a gentle hands-on process that allows healing, balancing energy to be transferred through the practitioner to the recipient.

Diane started on her path in the alternative healing arts in 1999 when she was introduced to the Usui Method of Reiki.She has been a Level II practitioner for four years.Diane continues to study with her Reiki teachers and was honored to be included in the Katama Reiki Retreat in 2003 for a week-long intensive of study and contemplation with seven Reiki Masters in her lineage.
In 2002 Diane completed her studies in Horticultural Therapy at the New YorkBotanical Garden.She interned at The Taylor Care Center at WestchesterMedicalCenter under the guidance of the renowned Horticultural Therapist Maxine Kaplan.After completing her internship, Diane continued to volunteer at the Center for an additional six months and graduated from the program in 2003.
In 2003 Diane completed reflexology training in the Laura Norman Method and has since taken advanced courses with Bill Flocco of the AmericanAcademy of Reflexology as well as advanced anatomy at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. She has been participating in a reflexology project under the Initiatives for Women with Disabilities at the Hospital for Joint Diseases in Manhattan.Diane is certified by the American Reflexology Certification Board and is a member of the New York State Reflexology Association.She sees clients in WestchesterCounty, Manhattan and Brooklyn.
Diane is a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.As a Holistic Health Counselor, she is coaching men and women with young families to make healthy nutrition and lifestyle choices by developing a complete program of nourishment specific to their individual needs.
