Satya Center Health Offerings

Cancer is a terrible and fearsome word, terrifying to many people. If a doctor tells a patient that cancer is the diagnosis, often that pronouncement is taken as a death sentence both by the patient and the physician. This doesn't always have to be the outcome in a diagnosis of cancer.

Cancer may seem like a contemporary disease brought on by unhealthy diets, processed foods, environmental pollution or according to some allopathic medical models, genetic predisposition. Cancer is the body out of control, fighting itself, and to many in the healing arts, it is a literal metaphor for how we have lost our way in caring for ourselves, our children, our communities and by extension our world.

For some brave souls however, cancer (or any other serious illness) is an opportunity. This website is dedicated to those who gather themselves together for healing, alone or with others; knowing we can each choose our own path to health. We can welcome health into our lives that it may take root and flower there. I share this information knowing that each of us has the power to surrender to healing.

Our alt.cancer section contains a wealth of information about alternative and complementary medicine resources on the Internet. May it serve you well.

The word crystal comes from the Greek word "krystallos", meaning ice. Quartz crystal is formed of silicon dioxide and is perhaps the most common mineral found on the face of the Earth.

Many varieties of quartz occur around the world because quartz forms in so many different geographical climates and rock formations.

Clear quartz, smoky quartz, rutillated quartz, amethyst, and Lemurian quartz are common varieties found all over the world.

Quartz crystals have been used by shamanic healers and spiritual teachers trained in the animistic traditions of indigenous peoples on every continent for thousands of years.

Considered sacred beings with special powers to connect the spiritual and earthly planes of existence, crystals have always been treated with the utmost respect in these traditions.

Modern New Age practitioners understand that the many varieties of quartz crystals and other minerals have specific metaphysical properties and can be useful tools for healing, to enhance meditation, and for other spiritual purposes.

The Foundation of Spiritual Science

"What one finds if one studies the various forms of mysticism is that the doctrines of the mystics are much less diverse than are religious laws. My interpretation of this is that mysticism is concerned with very fundamental laws. I consider mysticism to be something universal like science [and that] religions are based on the facts of this science.

"...Mystical experience by self-development through meditation, etc., is not only the key to one's own development but also the key....to putting this attempt to synthesize science and religion on a solid foundation.

"...If we follow this path of a synthesis of science and religion, using meditation as an observational tool, what we are doing is using our own nervous systems as instruments to observe the domains in which God works.

"Ordinary scientific instruments like telescopes, galvanometers and particle detectors are not going to be good in this context, because they are designed to function in the material domain.

"Our nervous systems, on the other hand, are designed to allow us to interact not only with the material level of existence, but also with spiritual levels. All the different levels are open to exploration if we develop our nervous systems so that they tune in. One can imagine that this would be part of the scientific training of the future."

(from Nobel prize winning physicist Brian Josepheson in the book Nobel Prize Conversations)

“Yoga”, one of the most flexible and meaningful terms in Hindu cosmology and philosophy, does not mean merely a system of calisthentic exercises, which Western devotees can find in every suburban shopping mall, but rather implies a Universe of meanings, many of which can contradict one another.

Panini, the Hindu grammarian, says that yoga means Union with the Supreme, making the term virtually synonymous with the English word “religion”, one possible origin from the Latin, 'religiare' meaning 'to bind'. (from The Oxford Engish Dictionary)

According to the Vedantins, yoga means the union of the individual being with the Supreme Self. Generally, Hindu scriptures use the word yoga to mean any system of religion or philosophy.

There are so many schools of yoga. There are many varieties of hatha yoga- the yoga of bodily postures, movements and breathing exercises, such as ashtanga yoga which is based upon Patanjali’s verses. There is integral yoga, or purna yoga, taught by Sri Aurobindo. Extensive teachings exist on kundalini yoga, bhakti yoga, jnana yoga, karma, raja, tantra, mantra and dhyana yoga.

See our yoga section of the website for more information and links to the various schools of yoga.

reiki

In Japanese, the ideographic characters of the alphabet are called kanji. The word Reiki is made up of two kanji – Rei and Ki. Reiki is a Japanese word. In Japanese, Rei means Universal and Ki means Energy.

Thus the word Reiki is often translated as Universal Life Force Energy, electrical excitation or aura. This energy is called chi by the Chinese, prana by Hindus.

Reiki is also a Twentieth Century Japanese system of natural healing and spiritual enlightenment, introduced to the world by Dr. Mikao Usui. Usui called his system Usui Shiki Reiki Ryoho, which means The Usui System of Reiki Healing.

Dr. Usui traveled all over Japan practicing Reiki healing, and taught over 2000 students in his lifetime. He died March 9, 1926.

Today millions of people around the world have experienced the benefits of Reiki.

Past life therapy is not just for people who believe in reincarnation.

Through a gentle process combining relaxation and guided visualization, past life therapy puts you in touch with your own personal mythology -- the hidden patterns of thought, emotion and behavior that unconsciously motivate you to act in certain ways. These patterns emerge in your habits, tendencies, inclinations and conditioning.

In a past life session you can finally become conscious of your own unconscious motivations and tell the story that reveals the patterns shaping your behavior, your emotions, and your relationships.

The therapist serves as a guide and facilitator, creating a safe and sacred space for your inner explorations.

You’ll attain insights into family dynamics, love relationships, professional and career hang-ups, chronic health issues, and personality flaws that have defied logical explanation and rational analysis.

In addition, the therapist assists you in safely and harmoniously releasing the emotional blockages that these unconscious motivations, long repressed, have created in your body, mind, heart and aura.

Find forgiveness for yourself and your parents, your siblings, your lovers, your children, even your boss and professional rivals!

Discover the spiritual meaning of the hardships in your life, and give yourself permission to unlock the doorway that leads to fulfillment of your own Higher Purpose here on Earth.

Dissolve your karma. Liberate your mind. Unburden your heart. Listen to the sweet inner voice of your own soul’s song. And be FREE.

See our past life therapy section to learn more about this unique therapy.

The Tarot is a system of visual images, glyphs, or symbols designed to awaken our soul’s memories we bring with us from the world of spirit into this world of matter, as well as the memories we have of spiritual teachings we have received in our previous incarnations.

As powerful as these visual images are, they are but shells, for the true power of the Tarot is the power of numinous, numerical Truth. Tarot is the Yoga of the West. Yoga means Union, and especially the union of the self with the Self, of the individual with the web of life, of the soul with the Source of Creation.

The relationships between the individual Tarot cards reveal the secret geometry of the Universe, and the secret blueprint for the microcosm of the human body, which is equivalent and analogous to the cartography of the entire Cosmos. These relationships are expressed mathematically, but they can be grasped in their fullness through a simple exercise that requires little or no mathematical sophistication.

Simply place the cards in patterns of various kinds, and you can see the hidden relations between spirit and matter, soul and Self, self and Self, Self and Source. You will understand the inter-related states of being that correspond to the various stages of creation, the various stages of the long and winding road that comprises the journey of human life, and the steps each of us must take to climb the mountain of spiritual aspiration to the very peak of enlightenment and Self-realization. The Tarot is the Yoga of the West.

“In nature, we find patterns, designs and structures from the most minuscule particles, to expressions of life discernible by human eyes, to the greater cosmos,” explains Bruce Rawles.  “These inevitably follow geometrical archetypes, which reveal to us the nature of each form and its vibrational resonances. They are also symbolic of the underlying metaphysical principle of the inseparable relationship of the part to the whole. It is this principle of oneness underlying all geometry that permeates the architecture of all form in its myriad diversity. This principle of interconnectedness, inseparability and union provides us with a continuous reminder of our relationship to the whole, a blueprint for the mind to the sacred foundation of all things created.”

On these pages, you will find some of our favorite resources for reliable and respected information on food, nutrition, farming, community sponsored agriculture, and farm and food suppliers. The most important thing to remember, is that no one diet suits every body. And that no single diet suits anyone of us throughout our lives or even during the course of a year.

Our dietary needs change as we grow older, as the seasons progress throughout the year, as our stresses change sometimes even during the course of a single day. The best advice is to listen to our bodies, which in their natural wisdom, can instruct us in the best diets for each of us, if we only learn to listen.

See our food section of Satya Center for more information and a varied food link resource.

Farms & Gardens are the lifeblood of our world. Please support diversification by planting a garden, joining a community garden, supporting community sponsored agriculture projects, farmers markets and other sustainable farm projects. Use the link directory to help you plant your seeds. May we restore the Garden!

Learn more here.

Learn about sustainable agriculture and how policy shapes the world of farming, the global food system, pesticides and why we don't want them on our farms as well as innovative ecological projects.

While we, here in the west are concerned about what to eat and how to keep GE foods from polluting the gene pool, others around the world are going hungry each day, many living below the poverty level, in subsistence conditions without access to clean food, clean water or a way to feed their families.

People die of starvation around the world every day! Here you will find links to food relief organizations many of which provide you with an opportunity to share your resources with those who are in need.

I hope that together, we may overcome the obstacles which politics and greed have placed in our paths so that we can make the abundent food on our planet available to all. May you share your blessings and abundance with others!
