Shamanic Teaching and Healing
Connie teaches and practices basic and advanced principles of core shamanism and dreamwork and other healing techniques. Core shamanism refers the spiritual level of healing practiced by indigenous people around the globe, including Native Americans. Shamanic Healing is NOT a replacement for Medical Treatment or Psychotherapy. Connie’s classes and private sessions cover the following topics:
Basic Core Shamanism:
Shamanic Journeys with the Drum
The Lower, Middle and Upper Worlds (beyond ordinary reality)
Shamanic Initiation
Power Animals
Spirit Teachers in Human Form
Power Animal Retrieval
Advanced Core Shamanic Healing:
A. Soul Loss/Retrieval
It is believed that whenever we suffer an emotional or physical trauma a piece of our soul flees the body in order to survive the experience. The definition of soul that I am using is soul is our essence, life force, the part of our vitality that keeps us alive and thriving. – Sandra Ingerman
This essence can be brought back or retrieved for a client by a shamanic practitioner during a shamanic journey.Essence returns with many gifts to help the individual lead a healthy, creative and productive life.
B. Intrusion/Extraction Healing
Shamanic intrusions are misplaced energy often created by negative human thought forms. Extraction refers to a shamanic practitioner removing this misplaced energy from an individual. The intrusion is subsequently returned to nature.
C. Death and Dying Work
Shamans and shamanic practitioners escort the souls of those who have died to the light to ensure a successful transition. In addition practitioners work with those who are dying and loved ones to ease pain and open the gates to a conscious and peaceful death.
Contemporary Shamanism:
Connie also teaches and practices contemporary forms of shamanism that include Sandra Ingerman's Healing with Spiritual Light work and other shamanic, energetic (Reiki) and dreamwork methods. Connie focuses on the many ways to access the inner worlds using the shamanic drum, methods developed by the Monroe Institute (hemisphere synchronization or “hemi-sync”), experiences in nature and working with dreams. You will learn to use the information gathered from this work to better and guide your lives.
Shamanic Art:
Connie believes that shamanic art is sacred and healing. You do not need to be a professional artist to create healing art for yourself. Connie teaches breast cancer survivors to journey and work with their dreams and then to create healing breast casts. In Connie’s classes participants gain access to the deeper meaning of their inner worlds and life’s metaphors through simple artwork and group feedback. Connie also teaches shamanic dream mask making and turtle rattle making workshops. Connie and a community of breast cancer survivors participated in sacred Tibetan sand mandala creation at The Colonial Theater in Pittsfield, MA.
